The Principal of Middle School 322 in New York City, Erica Zigelman has dedicated her professional life to performing as a teacher and educational administrator. Throughout her extensive career with the New York City Department of Education, Zigelman has acquired experience in many areas, including administrative duties, community outreach, student assessments, and event planning. At Middle School 322 as Principal since 2005, Erica Zigelman has initiated numerous programs to benefit students, parents, and teachers. Examples include a school-wide uniform policy, an after-school program, a literacy group, and a Saturday academy. Overseeing the curriculum, Zigelman developed state-approved Regents classes in science and math. Moreover, she earned the institution the titles of School in Good Standing by the State Education Department, First Amendment School by the First Amendment Center, and a Region 10 Model School for Science.
